Don't know why I hit a wall sometimes with a piece. Ah heck, if I were honest, this happens more times than not. Right now, I want to rip those flowers out of her hair on the right side, put her hand back in and add more hair to cover up the tower at the bottom. I believe this is called, "over thinking". (Oh, and make the moon smaller) STOP!!!

I enjoy your blog so much - don't comment as often as I should ; ) Overthinking - yes! But we're all guilty of it. This is a wonderful illustration for Rapunzel. I would have LOVED this class as a kid. Will you be able to post the work that your students do? I'd love to see it!
This has been an interesting class this year, Kim. Not sure if they are going to finish in time. My daughter has been taking pictures so I will ask her for some. Thanks for visiting. I LOVE your latest painting. (is it for sale??)
This is beautiful. It reminds me of the allbum covers on my "Let's Pretend" fairytale records when I was a kid. I think it moves the viewer around the picture effectively. Don't overthink this. If you still want to change it 6 months from now, then maybe your concerns were valid. But I would leave it for now.
Oh that pesky over thinking, how to stop it? I wish there was a cure, im sure thats why I have so many unfinished pieces in my studio. I think this piece of yours is looking wonderful, i love strong composition in paintings & yours always have that.
I think it looks great the way things are going right now. The edits you want to make may work out just fine, but they don't jump out to me as "problems" that need to be fixed.
My only very minor recommendation is to consider making the background base of the illustration darker ... perhaps even as dark as the castle tower in the background. I'm talking about the bottom right of the image. It might help make it appear that the prince is climbing from a ground base instead of thin air.
Thank you, Amy, ruthie, and Brian. I'm glad I'm not the only one to overthink things. ruthie...we should compare our unfinished piles. Thank you for your suggestion, Brian. I see what you mean. Thanks again, folks.
No do not do that it is perfect I love it so much!
Greetings,
Liliane
