Portrait Update

I hesitate to post this phase of the portrait since this is one of its funny, weird points. This lovely woman looks more clownlike without her mouth, but I promise she will come together once her other features are complete.
Still building up the layers on skin and beginning on mouth. I've put the first layer of French Grey 10% on background. Will start on hair and ear after client's approval of this stage.
Detail of face so far.

I think this will end up being another beautiful picture mom. And I agree; the eyes do speak to the viewer. She has the look of someone very wise and has seen great sorrow (and happiness) in her life. I'm eager to see the end result. Great job mom!

Oooooo, I love this! The eyes totally speak...something that not all artists are able to capture. LOVE it. It's gorgeous even unfinished!

Thank you for your encouraging comments. Glad you approve of the eyes. Hope my client does as well.
Amy - I usually prefer Stonehenge and I use the smooth side. This is on Strathmore Bristol, 4 ply.
