Moran Gene Hirschi

This is such a private matter, but I felt I should post why I have been absent from my blog and Facebook. On January 17th, our daughter and her husband suffered a still birth of a beautiful, full-term little girl, Moran. She was 7#13oz...a delicate, refined version of their little boy, Owen. The doctors concluded that plancenta abruptio occurred severing her lifeline to her mother. During delivery, complications set in that nearly claimed our daughter's life, but she made it through and is finally home. We are here with them, helping with Owen and trying our best to provide support and help during this difficult time.
Friends and family have been extremely generous with their love and words of comfort. Through it all, we have felt God's presence holding us close.
Borrowing some lyrics from Beth Nielsen Chapman:

"Life gives us magic and life gives us tragedy,
Everyone suffers some loss.
Still we have faith in it...childlike hope.
There's a reason that outweighs the cost".

Though I prefer the magical parts of life, the tragedies teach us much about love and trust.

My thanks to each of you. Returned home last night. Think this will take awhile but your heartfelt expressions help.
