Ok, I know everyone has their own idea of what Jacob Black from Twilight looks like, but I thought I'd take a stab at it during my sketching time yesterday. In the first book by Stephenie Meyer, Jacob is a mere 15 years old and in my mind, a sort of lanky kid on the treshold of manhood. After looking at many photos of native Americans, I tried to be true to the my observation: strong brow, distinct, high cheekbones, flatter nose, intense eyes. I tried to combine all that with a feeling of determination, fierceness, with a hint of the man (and...um....well, "warrior") he would soon become in the next book, New Moon. Ok. Got him out of my system. Back to work.

I think you captured jacob spot on. Looks awsome.
Great Jacob Black! Love him.
I love how you caught the spirit of what is to come! Your talent amazes me.
I wish that he didn't look so tense. Are you going to do more of him? I am Team Jacob and it is a lost cause, but oh how I wish it wasn't. Jacob and Bella would make beautiful babies.
I am a grandmother and he--this rendition of Jacob-- makes me tingle! But I don't think this tribe has feathers in their hair. I would love to see it like Bella loved it.
You are the best artist I have ever seen. AND I'm on the 'net a lot.
Thanks so much for sharing your talent with us.

Thank you to all of you! I've had to take down my Twilight fanart since I've had some problems with people using it and calling it their own. I forgot about this one. Barbara_ it's nice to know there are other 'Grand' Twlighters out there. Thanks again!
I am a fan of the books. I read them after the movies came out, and I still didn,t put Taylor together with the character while I was reading it. This is closer to how i envisioned him too. I have been working backwords through your blog. I love how you explain exactly what you are using and show the progress. It's very helpful for someone like me who has no training but just likes to play around with stuff.
