SOLD!

I sold my first original painting last month. The collector contacted me about the sketch first, not knowing it was also a painting. He ended up buying both. I went around with this silly smile on my face for about a month. What a rush! I am so grateful there are collectors who are willing to invest in artists that are just beginning. Such risks on his part encourages me to work harder to show his faith in me isn't misplaced.

  7. Thanks John. That's a good question about attachment. I thought I would feel some reluctance to see it go. But to be honest, I was more honored than sad knowing where it was going and the incredible collection of this man. Yeah, I was doing a happy dance for a week.

  9. Awesome!
I love that feeling when you sell some of your own art...even though I always miss the piece once its gone to a new home. Commissions, usually not as much. :)

  11. Kim, I want to send you belated congratulations - I couldn't be happier for you! I've never sold a thing since taking the brush back up a few years ago, so I can only imagine what it feels like for you - well done! Looking at both pieces, it's hard to say which I like more, so this buyer definitely made the right choice.

I do hope you're submitting this piece to Spectrum this year... :)
